MILAN — Caviar and fine silver and jewels make for the ultimate pairing, according to Buccellati.
On Tuesday, the jewelry and silversmith firm will open a Caviar Bar at its Milan showroom in Palazzo Gavazzi, where Buccellati jewels and its table and decor pieces will glimmer among Chahan Minassian’s interior designs and vice versa.
The Armenian Lebanese interior designer began collaborating with the company in 2020 and most recently enhanced the firm’s Piano Nobile within its historic Via Montenapoleone 23 address in 2024. He has now extended the relationship by creating a new space that draws inspiration from one of the most emblematic expressions of Buccellati’s Art de la Table universe: the Caviar collection, distinguished by its signature micro-beaded motif and the silversmithing craftsmanship that defines its identity.

Minassian transformed the Palazzo Gavazzi space into a Caviar Bar with vaulted ceilings aglow in custom copper, silver and smoky-gray mirrors that amplify light and depth. Silvery grays, bronzes, gold accents, velvet, Fortuny fabrics and Murano glass were used to create a residential atmosphere, balancing historic architecture with bespoke contemporary furnishings.
“The objective was to create an interior that felt welcoming and lived-in while preserving the architectural grandeur of Palazzo Gavazzi. The mirrors introduce light, movement and depth, while the materials, textiles and Murano glass bring warmth and intimacy,” he said.
The space reserved for private clients and events extends Buccellati’s world of craftsmanship and hospitality, placing its Caviar collection, silverware, Ginori collaborations, Murano pieces and decorative objects at the center of an unexpected and elegant Milanese dining experience.
During Milan Deisgn Week in April, the family-run company enhanced its range of silverware with a new Caviar collection.
The collection is marked by a silver surface defined by a dense constellation of handcrafted microspheres, with a texture reminiscent of the appearance of caviar, and has become one of the Milan-based jeweler’s distinctive hallmarks since it was unveiled.
In 2022 Minassian was invited to interpret the first products of the Caviar collection, charger caviar holder trays and glasses.
Since then the firm has taken strides to highlight caviar tasting as a sensory experience to be lived as a ritual experience, said communications director Maria Cristina Buccellati.
“It is actually not about food and beverage but to celebrate the art of hosting, we created this Caviar Bar to host our clients for a special experience while visiting our stores,” she commented, adding that the goal is to transform the tasting into “an exclusive event that celebrates luxury and refinement.”
