LONDON — British fashion label Margaret Howell is expanding its retail presence in South Korea.
It is set to open its first Korean store at the luxury-filled department store Shinsegae Main on Sept. 22, with additional locations to follow as part of a broader expansion plan supported by a new distribution agreement with Samsung C&T, the South Korean conglomerate with businesses spanning electronics, construction, trade, energy and fashion.
As the exclusive distributor for Margaret Howell and MHL, Samsung C&T has worked on a long-term framework to roll out the brand’s presence across physical and digital channels that include department store doors, Beaker multibrand stores and online via Samsung C&T’s SSF platform.
Founded in 1970, Margaret Howell has cultivated an international following over the decades. The brand’s purposeful, refined and made-to-last aesthetic has been particularly popular in Japan, as it has been majority-owned by the Japanese licensing and apparel company Anglobal since 1990.
