Ralph Lauren unofficially kicks off New York Fashion Week with its women’s Collection show on Wednesday, and the moment arrives as the fast-growing brand continues to be one others want to emulate — and consumers want to wear.
After a year marked by high-profile moments, significant developments and continued growth across its business, which caters to a multigenerational audience, the spring 2027 show offers another look at where the brand — which for nearly 60 years has stood as the pinnacle of American fashion — is headed next and how it continues to evolve while remaining rooted in Lauren’s distinctive vision of American style — with multifaceted designs that evoke everything from the American West to preppy, and one that is more popular globally than ever.
As reported by WWD, Ralph Lauren Corp.’s market cap stands at $23.1 billion after its first-quarter sales tallied $2 billion, an increase of 13 percent in constant currencies.

Women’s remains the company’s most exciting growth opportunity, with runway presentations providing moments to inspire through Lauren’s vision of modern yet timeless American luxury. As part of the brand’s “Next Great Chapter: Drive” strategic plan, unveiled last year, its high-potential categories include outerwear, women’s and handbags.
The strategy outlined the company’s next several years of focus on long-term, sustainable value creation and growth. It’s diversified across categories, consumer segments and markets and channels including elevating and energizing the Ralph Lauren lifestyle brand and driving its core, high-quality products as foundational wardrobing while expanding its leadership position in men’s.
Furthermore, the brand continues to deliver elevated experiences across categories around the world. Although the China market makes up a smaller portion of its overall global business, the brand noted it’s a market where Lauren can innovate, test and learn. One example of this is live shopping at its women’s store in Douyin, which blends styling, entertainment and commerce.
The company also noted its many shared values with the Chinese consumer, including a focus on authenticity, heritage and family, which alongside engaging experiences with locally relevant talent — hosting events like its Shanghai fashion show and the Polo Cup in Beijing — have continued to deepen Lauren’s global consumer relationships.
These points have made for a busy, successful year for the business, as seen through its major brand moments including its Milan men’s show, Polo presentation and activation at Wimbledon, where the company and The All England Lawn Tennis Club revealed a multiyear extension of their longstanding partnership, to name a few.
This summer, Nordstrom opened a limited-time pop-up spotlighting Polo’s latest U.S. Open collection alongside an assortment of the brand’s signature men’s, women’s, children’s and home styles before Ralph Lauren unveiled its new immersive hospitality suite, inspired by the famed Polo Bar, at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The ongoing, long-term partnerships and activations continue to uphold the brand’s multigenerational reach thanks to its strategy of meeting customers at the intersection of culture and fashion, especially in its approach to sports with celebrity talent and creators. Ditto to lifestyle categories like hospitality, which make up a smaller part of its total business but are important extensions of the brand and its inclusive positioning.
Across all channels, in person or online, it’s about world building and storytelling through elevated experiences, which range from grabbing a cup of Ralph’s Coffee, flipping through its new “Ralph Lauren Catwalk” book or shopping at one of the brand’s retail locations to purchasing an elevated Collection gown or dining at one of its Polo Bars in New York or Milan.
Not only is the brand connecting with customers at every stage of their lives through these wide-reaching experiences, but also through its diverse product assortment.
The brand has especially seen strong momentum among younger customers for both its newer products — a leading example being its colorful zip-up windbreaker that went viral this summer — and vintage. The latter plays well with the brand’s approach to styling new garments with more of a relaxed, sporty, layered and elevated yet casual bent for its Gen Z audience.
And it all leads to Wednesday evening, when Lauren will unveil his latest women’s Collection show of the brand’s most elevated, craft-forward, luxury offering once again at the Jack Shainman Gallery in downtown New York City. For his third showing in the space, Lauren is embracing the gallery’s beauty of architecture and light as a canvas to showcase the lineup.
“Spring 2027 is an irreverent take on romance that creates a new elegance. It’s about ways of dressing that celebrate ingenuity, originality and character — the freedom and fun of creating a style that is truly personal,” Lauren said in a statement about the collection.
During a preview, three looks indicated what was to come on the runway. Each displayed new takes on the brand’s pillars including a more exuberant, opulent and experimental spin on the rugged and refined, as seen through a vibrant blue floral brocade button-up blouse with exaggerated pouf sleeves, matching micro vest and ultra-wide necktie — said to reference the item that launched Lauren’s career nearly 60 years ago — paired with a great pair of light-wash, distressed jeans.
Elsewhere, a sparkling micro sequin-covered navy tank dress that cascaded into fringes was worn over fluid trousers and was styled with the brand’s new streamlined Madison handbag for an easy yet elegant take on eveningwear. And a sleek tailored navy topcoat worn over a frilled, midriff-baring top and gilded gold-fringed skirt bridged Lauren’s knack for both classic polish and megawatt craft.
“For this collection, every woman emerges as the heroine of her own story, embracing individuality and the power of dressing to express her most genuine self,” Lauren told WWD of the season, which spans day to evening in garments, a majority of which are crafted in Italy, that focus on utilizing the best materials and artisans for each piece to stand the test of time.
